About Me

I am an artist with a scientific background, I have a constant engagement with scientific concepts which have given me the potential to perceive artistic concepts from another perspective. In other words, chemistry is clearly the basis of glaze, and my main concentration is on contemporary ceramics art. For me, installation is one of the most conceptual art mediums because it enables me to express different layers of meaning. Installation provides more space for better communication between the audience and the artist, due to its interactive nature.

My medium for expressing personal and social themes

My installations, comprising numerous ceramic components, inspired me to delve into advanced and complex molding techniques.
By distancing ceramics from its conventional functionality, I embraced it as my primary artistic medium, characterized by its versatility and potential for installation art.

I incorporate elements of personal and collective identity, using ceramics as a medium to reflect on environmental and social issues, femineity, and identity. Through these themes, my installations aim to provoke thought, inspire dialogue, and encourage a deeper understanding of the universe.

My Artistic Practice

My Experiences in 2024-2025

gyotaku
Gyotaku Prints

I came across Gyotaku, a traditional form of Japanese art that began over 100 years ago as a way for fishermen to keep a record of the fish they caught. They would apply sumi ink to one side of a freshly caught fish, cover it with rice paper, and rub to create an exact image of the fish.

Installations

I create interactive installations that explore social, geographical, and environmental concerns. My work seeks to inspire reflection, foster dialogue, and connect people with their surroundings.   hrough my artistry, I aim to create meaningful experiences that inspire reflection, collaboration, and awareness.

Ceramic Sculptures

In my work, I use soil and clay (as primary materials) intertwined with Iranian nature and culture. These elements symbolize the deep connection between humans, the earth, and cultural history. Through these materials and symbols like fish and statue-like figures, I create new interpretations of the relationship between humans and nature.

“The Fish that Have Run with Me”

Land Art, Zayandehroud, 2024

The dry and cracked bed of Zayandehroud, no longer a nurturing and living river, with boats rotting under the scorching sun, created an unforgettable space for me.

Video Arts

Video Art 1 (Asir): This artistic project focuses on Iran’s water crisis, one of the most significant challenges Iran faces today. In this project, I used unique ceramic fish that, after their first firing in the kiln, absorb water and become extremely dry.

Video Art 2 (Accumulation): Anything that is piled up and compacted creates pressure and subsequently crushed and squashed. It is as if we humans are a mass of conflicting experiences and emotions, which have probably poured over our heads and shaped our memory as a result.

Video Art 3 (Zayanderoud): The dry and cracked bed of Zayandehroud, no longer a nurturing and living river, with boats rotting under the scorching sun, created an unforgettable space for me.
